Delete your account

You can delete your Namely account and the personal data associated with it. Namely is published by Hog and Mole Pty Ltd.

Delete your account in the app

  1. Open Namely and go to Settings.
  2. Under MY DATA, choose Delete My Data.
  3. Review the explanation and confirm deletion.
  4. If your installed version asks for Apple authentication, complete that step so Namely can revoke its Apple authorisation.

Once Namely accepts the request, the app blocks further account use while deletion finishes. If the network response is uncertain, the app keeps a non-dismissible recovery screen until the server can prove whether the request is active or accepted. Core active account data is removed promptly. Provider-managed backups and diagnostic systems may rotate for longer, as explained below.

If you cannot access the app

Email hello@namelyapp.com from the address linked to your account. State clearly that you want your Namely account deleted. We may ask for limited information to verify ownership. We will confirm by email when processing is complete, normally within 30 days.

What is deleted

  • Your Namely account profile and authentication record
  • Generated, viewed, liked, disliked and shortlisted names
  • Your due date, filters and other account preferences
  • Your side of partner connections and invite records
  • Namely analytics identity and subscription-customer record
  • Push-notification token and account-scoped local data

A connected partner’s own account and name choices are not deleted. Content you previously sent to an email recipient, share target or support mailbox is not controlled by the in-app deletion process.

What may remain temporarily

Raw processor identifiers are normally removed within 30 days. A genuinely unresolved request may retain the minimum user identifier needed for manual completion until the incident is resolved. RevenueCat customer absence and PostHog person and event deletion are checked. PostHog accepts and queues recording deletion but does not expose a recording-completion check. Completed Firestore job records are removed no later than 30 days after the request. A redacted receipt status and a pseudonymous deletion proof, neither containing the raw user identifier, are retained for up to 180 days for offline recovery and safe backup restoration.

Service-provider backups and diagnostic systems rotate on their own schedules. Encrypted Firestore disaster-recovery backups are retained for up to 98 days and cannot have one account selectively removed from an existing backup; deletion records are reapplied before any restored data is made active. Firebase Authentication and installation records may take up to 180 days to disappear from live and backup systems. For older crash reports linked to a Namely user identifier, Namely sends three bounded Crashlytics deletion requests. Firebase supplies an expected completion time, typically within 24 hours, but no independent completion check; crash data otherwise follows Firebase’s retention period, generally about 90 days. Apple and Google may retain store transaction records under their own legal obligations.

Subscriptions

Deleting your Namely account does not cancel a paid subscription. Cancel or manage it separately in Apple App Store or Google Play settings to prevent future renewal.

Delete only some information

The app lets you remove saved names, history, due date and several preferences without deleting your account. For another access, correction or deletion request, email hello@namelyapp.com.
